Should you get a fast charger or not?

Many people think that fast chargers are better, but of course not everyone agrees and prefers slower charging.

We are not going to talk about technical parameters or whether the fast charging is good for the electric car or not. We will not discuss the purchase price either. But let’s look at it from a different point of view.

Some owners of restaurants, hotels, or mountain chalets have purchased or want to purchase quick chargers. But why?

If the customer charges the car for 10 minutes, they may not even buy a cup of coffee. But if they wait for recharging, let’s say an hour, they will not have only the coffee, but probably will get lunch or dinner. The restaurant will have more sales and maybe get a regular client who will return on regular basis and not just for recharging.

So if the owners want to spend a certain amount of money for a charging station, they can buy several AC chargers that charge slower instead of one DC fast charger . In that case more electric cars will recharge at the same time, therefore many more people will spend money on food. As you can see, business wise it’s much better to buy AC charging stations.
